FUNDING NOTIFICATION
The Public Health Agency (PHA), have identified
non-recurring funding to address the themes of
Suicide Prevention, Self-Harm and Drugs and
Alcohol misuse, and have asked the CLEAR project
to facilitate this process on their behalf and in
conjunction with the Western Health and
Social Care Trust.
As such the CLEAR project are inviting community
and
voluntary sector organisations to apply for non-recurring awards to address the outlined themes. Non Profit taking statutory or education sector organisations can also apply for Award One grants (i.e. non-recurring awards up to £1,000).
The CLEAR Project recently launched, “CLEAR
Standards and Quality Assessment Framework
for Community and Voluntary Sector Organisations”.
This document sets out the minimum quality standard
to which community and voluntary organisations should work to in terms of:
It also seeks to enable us to provide assurances on the high standards of service provision in the Western Health Trust Area.
As a means of assuring others of the high standards of service provision locally, the CLEAR Project are asking community and voluntary groups to voluntarily assess their organisation and its service(s) using the document and submit a copy of the assessment to the CLEAR project. Training & Development Opportunities
CLEAR offers a range of development and capacity building training & development opportunities to community and voluntary organisations who operate in the West of the province.
During the 2010/ 2011 financial year 529 training places were availed of through the CLEAR project. This included a range of generic programmes and those aimed at counsellors. This range of training & development opportunities designed to assist organisations meet specific requirements outlined within the CLEAR Standards. A further 142 people attend the suicide,self-harm and alcohol seminar in November 2010. Training to date has included:

How to sign post / make a referral?
The CLEAR Project have devised a best practice guide to support community and voluntary organisations when sign-posting / referring service users to other services. This best practice guide supports the CLEAR Standards which highlight the need for sign-posting and / or referring to other services or interventions as a means of ensuring increased access to appropriate services for people when they need them, where they need.
